Francia Marquez, black, single mother, activist for human rights, women’s rights and environmental protection, who left her home threatened with death for defending her land, from one of the most violent areas of the country, Cauca, land of black women, witches and fighters… will be the next vice-president of Colombia, where the left has never governed. A difficult task, immensely difficult, but hopeful, because it opens doors, it brings new utopias that allow the construction of a new culture of dialogue and care in a country where violence is a common language, where the contempt of those in power is the daily bread. A colossal task for an admirable woman who will try to repair the “major uterus” as she calls it, and to rewind, reweave and repair the historical debts owed to young people, blacks, women, peasants, diversities and the oppressed… until dignity becomes a habit.
